Moonrise Media is still very much a startup. It’s a “phase” I’ve been in for way longer than I wanted but that’s an indication of how business-savy I am (or rather am not) more than anything!
I am very aware that in this phase – still working out of my rented home, no additional staff, etc – my environmental credentials don’t really count for much. I mean it’s good that I don’t currently have a large environmental footprint but it also makes it difficult to convey “what we are doing as an organisation”. We don’t have existing practices to improve. We don’t have waste to cut down on. So how do I express my “environmental credentials”? Well, one thing I have been doing – out of the necessity of finding a cost-effective supplier for the myriad of little specific items, especially for the ProductionCube® – is utilising Amazon for a lot, if not most of my purchases. And so to reduce the countless trips of couriers to my door I make use of my Amazon Day Delivery.
My other, and probably main environmental credential comes from the Live Streaming Service that I offer whereby I can enable my clients to improve their environmental footprint by hosting hybrid or fully virtual events, thus cutting down on travel. Whether that be for speakers at an event who can beam in via Zoom instead of flying across the Atlantic or an audience who can tune in to a product launch without having to travel to the launch location.
