I have streamed a number of funerals – including my own mother's – and each has felt like a distinct privilege. To be the person with no other connection, enabling those who are unable to be present to, well, still be present.

Whether it was for the 105-year-old mother who wasn’t physically able to fly halfway around the world to witness her son celebrated with military honours, or the family in Jersey and Australia who were able to feel a part of a loved one's memorial... there is a fundamental human need to feel a part of these occasions. A live stream, when handled with dignity and care, brings people together. It bridges the distance.

From the very beginning, my vision for live streaming was to do more than just point a camera at a stage. The goal was to dissolve distance, to build a bridge that could connect a global audience or a single grieving mother with the same cinematic quality and emotional care. Building a truly reliable, broadcast-grade service – one that could deliver on that promise without fail – required a significant investment in the right technology. This is where our story joined with the Marches Growth Hub. They saw the vision and chose to invest in it, awarding Moonrise Media a Small Equipment Grant of £6,827.56.This crucial partnership was the catalyst that allowed us to build the ProductionCube® and acquire the tools necessary to 'expand the room' for our clients and our community. We are incredibly proud to be a Herefordshire business built on a foundation of community partnership, delivering a world-class service.
Giving a Voice to Local Changemakers
I believe that a lack of budget should never silence a powerful story. Herefordshire is built on the passion of community groups, volunteers, and non-profits, and I am committed to helping their voices be heard. That’s why I created The Moonrise Community Grant. This is not a discount; it is a partnership. Each year, we partner with a select number of Herefordshire-based community groups and charities to provide our full 'Crescent' live streaming service for a nominal contribution of just £95. This is our way of investing back into the community that supports us, ensuring that vital local stories can be shared with the clarity and quality they deserve.
